Position SummaryThe Licensed School Nurse (LSN) provides comprehensive school‑based health services to support student wellness, safety, and access to learning during the six‑week Summer School Program at Royal Learning Academy. This role manages student health needs, ensures compliance with health mandates, collaborates with staff and families, and supports office operations as needed to ensure continuity of services.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and provide care for students with routine and specialized health needs.
- Develop and implement Individual Health Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Health Plans (EHPs).
- Perform skilled nursing procedures and delegate care as appropriate.
- Interpret health information for staff and communicate school‑related needs to medical providers.
- Provide crisis response, health screenings, and referrals to community resources.
- Promote staff collaboration to maintain student and school wellness.
- Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal health requirements.
- Serve as primary point of contact in the main office when administrative staff are unavailable.
- Monitor main entrance activity and support visitor check‑ins.
- Answer phones and assist families and staff.
- Collaborate with building administration to ensure continuity of services.
- Programmatic: Assistant Director of Instructional Design & Learning (IDL)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Current Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Public Health Nurse (PHN) certification
- Experience working with school‑aged children preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
Work is performed in a school and office setting and may involve standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 20 pounds, and responding to health emergencies. Exposure to infectious diseases and blood‑borne pathogens may occur. CPR certification required.
Schedule & Compensation1.0 - FTE - 33 days, approx.
HEA Union Contract
Range: BA, Step 0: $48,039.00
MA, Step 0: $52,223.00
* Salary to be prorated based on term need.
