About Our ClientEmpowering small and medium-sized businesses with financial clarity and modern digital solutions. We aren’t your traditional "dusty" accounting firm—we operate at the intersection of finance and technology. Our mission is to build unshakeable financial foundations for our clients, acting as their "team behind the scenes" so they can focus on scaling their BIG visions.
Based in Mentor, Ohio, we pride ourselves on being tech-forward, client-centric, and deeply committed to the success of our local business community.
The RoleWe are seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Senior Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our growing team. This is a pivotal role that combines high-level general ledger management with "roll-up-your-sleeves" bookkeeping.
You will be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of clients, ensuring their books are pristine and their financial reporting is timely. A significant portion of this role involves "Clean-Up Projects"—taking messy historical data and transforming it into organized, accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities- Full-Cycle Bookkeeping: Manage AP/AR, bank reconciliations, payroll processing, and month-end closing for multiple clients.
- Quick Books Expert: Act as the internal authority on Quick Books Online/Desktop, ensuring all client files are optimized and utilizing the latest integrations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate Balance Sheets, P&L statements, and cash flow forecasts to provide clients with actionable insights.
- Project Leadership (Clean-Ups): Lead specialized "Clean-Up" projects to audit, reconcile, and correct historical financial data for new and existing clients.
- Onsite Client Support: Visit client sites within Lake County (Mentor and surrounding areas) to provide hands‑on support and build lasting professional relationships.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate workflows and improve efficiency using cloud‑based accounting tools.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting (experience in a public accounting or multi-client firm setting is a plus).
- Technical Mastery:
Expert-level proficiency in Quick Books is a MUST. Certification as a Quick Books Pro Advisor is highly preferred. - Regional Knowledge: Must be located near Mentor, OH, and be willing to travel to local clients in Lake County as needed.
- Analytical Mindset: You love a good "accounting puzzle" and have the patience and skill to fix complex ledger errors.
- Communication: Ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial business owners with a friendly, professional demeanor.
- Incentivized Bonuses: Additional bonus structure specifically tied to the completion of "Clean-Up" and special projects.
- Growth Environment: We value modern digital skillsets and encourage professional development.
- Local Impact: Work directly with the business owners who drive the Lake County economy.
