OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking CNC Supervisor to lead our machining department and drive performance, quality, and profitability. This role combines strong technical CNC expertise with hands‑on leadership to develop a high‑performing team of programmers and machinists. Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage daily machining operations to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
- Assign work, manage workflow, and optimize production scheduling.
- Develop and oversee employee scheduling to meet workload demands.
- Partner with Project Managers and cross‑functional teams on quoting, timelines, and capacity planning.
- Ensure equipment reliability through preventative maintenance coordination.
- Maintain safety compliance and promote safe working behaviors.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, ergonomics, and cost control.
- Manage departmental budget and expenditures.
- Advise on specialty tool purchases.
- Train, mentor, and develop multi‑skilled CNC Programmers/Machinists.
- Support recruiting, performance management, and employee development.
- Maintain and enhance SOPs and training programs in collaboration with Quality.
- Step in as a Machinist III as needed.
- Advanced 2D/3D programming and multi‑axis machining (3+1 / 3+2 indexing).
- Strong lathe knowledge and complex fixturing experience.
- High‑tolerance machining and GD&T expertise.
- Knowledge of material properties and advanced shop math.
- Proficiency with CAM software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and continuous improvement practices.
- Leadership & business acumen: ability to influence, motivate, and hold teams accountable.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience managing production workflow and budgets.
- Sound decision‑making and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple complex priorities in a cross‑functional environment.
- Mindset of continuous improvement and change leadership.
- Degree in Machine Tool, Manufacturing Technology, or related field (required).
- 5+ years of CNC programming and machining experience (required).
- 2+ years of supervisory or management experience (preferred).
- ISO 9001 or quality systems experience (preferred).
- 1st shift, Monday‑Friday onsite.
- Travel up to 5% to company sites.
