- Provide compassionate and holistic spiritual care to residents.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals: the Chaplain works closely with nursing, life enrichment, allied health staff, and the corporate team.
- Conduct interfaith worship experiences, fostering a sense of community and shared faith with professional and ethical standards.
- Maintain a deep understanding of religious diversity, spiritual care, and interfaith programming, and the ability to work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.
- Maintain confidentiality of all resident information.
- Demonstrate good interpersonal skills when working with residents, their families, other providers, and other staff members.
- Support the maintenance of spiritual care records as directed.
- Accepts and performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.
- Occasional twisting, reaching at shoulder height, reaching above or below shoulder height, and occasional bending.
- Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Workday distribution: 60% sitting, 30% walking, 10% standing.
- Adapts to frequent interruptions and changing situations.
- Demonstrated experience serving as a chaplain in a clinical or pastoral care environment.
- Board Certification as a chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains is preferred but not required.
- Follows and adheres to organization, federal, and state regulations and guidelines, including Resident/Client rights.
- Must be able to communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to work as a member of the interdisciplinary group.
- Comfortable in an interfaith setting.
- Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs, and values.
- Ability to network with community clergy and congregations.
- Maintains neat, well-groomed appearance, adhering to dress code of organization/program.
- Local travel required.
