Job Description & How to Apply Below

We are working with a major plastics producer that's got big-name clients in healthcare, automotive, and consumer product. Their Wisconsin campus houses a state-of-the-art toolroom and innovation center, and they are investing heavily in people, equipment, and training. To support this growth they are adding a Toolmaker to the maintenance and repair team. If you enjoy hands-on problem-solving, like seeing the immediate impact of your work on the production floor, and want access to cutting-edge machines, this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and correct issues with injection molds, hot-runner systems, and related tooling to keep presses running at peak efficiency.
  • Operate manual and CNC mills, surface grinders, lathes, EDM, and hand tools to fabricate, refurbish, or fit components.
  • Measure, inspect, and validate finished components using gauges, microscopes, and CMM equipment to ensure they meet print.
  • Track, request, and replenish spare parts and consumables so critical inventory is always on hand for rapid repairs.
  • Partner with the new-tooling group on engineering changes and complex mold modifications.
  • Follow all safety procedures including Lock-out/Tag-out and forklift operation while maintaining detailed maintenance records.
Qualifications
  • 5 – 7 years of experience building, repairing, or maintaining plastic injection molds – or completion of a state‑issued Tool & Die apprenticeship (Journeyman card).
  • Proven skill with manual/CNC mills, grinders, lathes, and precision hand tools.
  • Solid understanding of injection‑molding processes, materials, and hot‑runner technologies.
  • Ability to read blueprints, 3D models, and GD&T; strong troubleshooting and reverse‑engineering mindset.
  • Comfortable with shop safety systems (LOTO, forklift) and basic computer skills for documentation.
What’s In It for You
  • Immediate impact:
Your craftsmanship keeps high‑cavitation medical and consumer molds producing quality parts.
  • Cutting‑edge environment:
Modern toolroom with new CNC equipment, vision systems, and additive tooling technologies.
  • Career growth:
Tuition reimbursement, cross‑training with the R&D mold‑design team, and a clear path toward senior tooling or leadership tracks.
  • Comprehensive rewards:
Competitive hourly rate, overtime potential, full benefits, and 401(k) with company match.
