SURFACE GRINDING OPERATOR-FULL TIME

Mechtrix Corporation in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin is looking to fill the position of 1st shift full time Surface Grinding Operator in our manufacturing department. Mechtrix has been manufacturing tooling and machinery for the electrical wire processing industry since 1982. Mechtrix Corporation is not a job shop. • Set up, operate and run multiple Okamoto Surface Grinders (8-20 & 12-24) to drawing/blueprint specifications.
• Work includes flat grinding, angle grinding, slot grinding and more.
• Set up may include using blocking, aligning and securing work pieces with magnetic chuck, parallels, sine plate, fixtures or other methods.
• Perform in-process inspection, deburring and final inspections using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, gauges and microscopes.
• Dress wheels to specifications using dressing appropriate techniques.
• Maintain machines, tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe manner to ensure proper operation and quality.
• Observe overall operation and perform regular daily maintenance on equipment and work areas.
• Follow production schedule, job orders, written or verbal instructions as needed.
• Good understanding of machine processes required to produce quality parts.
• Have knowledge and understanding of GD&T.
• Practical experience with stack-up tolerances.
• Willingness to move between different grinding jobs and machines as required.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Math competency to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and a working understanding of trigonometry and fractions.
• Grinding experience 3+ years.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
