Manufacturing Process EngineerWe’re seeking a hands‑on Manufacturing Process Engineer to improve and support our production operations through process optimization, data‑driven problem‑solving, and implementation of lean manufacturing practices. The role will be full time on‑site.
Develop manufacturing process plans by examining customer supplied and internal blueprints, specifications and related technical documents. Evaluate requirements and apply best process plan to optimize manufacturing. Recommend improvements to processes based on understanding of manufacturing and machine shop practices.
Key Duties- Review, interpret and analyze customer order, blueprints and material/finishing specifications. Follow up with customers for supporting information if required.
- Communicate with customer to clarify or reconcile all discrepancies concerning drawings, processes, material or technical information required for each order.
- Ensure the translation of customer requirements to production processes by managing Bill of Materials (BOM), document control, and validating routing; supports New Product Introduction and Engineering Change Order (ECO) processes.
- Engage in detailed manufacturing process documentation, including work instructions, as received from customer, and prepped for release to production floor.
- Develop process improvements and direct projects in support of the manufacture of a wide variety of parts and assemblies.
- Establish, update and maintain folder content with the most current practices and information required to create the manufacturing routings and any additional documentation needed for manufacturing process including products with complex design, multiple component assemblies and new product lines.
- Provide technical support to the manufacturing team, aiding in the resolution of engineering issues that affect production and prevent continuous production flow.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or 5 years experience in a process, manufacturing, or production engineering role.
- Technical knowledge in a manufacturing business with custom products and low volume production runs.
- Ability to interpret a variety of technical documents such as diagrams and drawings effectively.
- Understanding of the concepts of New Product Introduction and how to execute projects including supporting functions.
- Proven ability to analyze data and drive measurable process improvements.
- Participates in cross‑functional teams to support manufacturing process improvements to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
- At least 3 years experience with CAD, Solid Works modeling.
- Desire to move up in company and eventually manage department.
- Ability to coach, mentor, lead, develop, train and discipline associates.
- Above average experience with Microsoft Office, Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication skills, project management and computer skills are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with critical detail in a fast‑paced environment where schedule demands and requirements are frequently changing.
- Problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Capacity to learn and apply new skills in a dynamic manufacturing services environment.
- Engineering project management and project leadership skills an asset.
