2nd Pressman; Print Operator 3rd Shift

The Second Pressman is responsible for obtaining and maintaining product color. In the absence of the First Pressman, the Second Pressman assumes all responsibilities of the First Pressman and performs any related tasks assigned by the First Pressman or Pressroom Supervision.

This is a 3rd shift role: 11PM-7AM

• Check equipment daily to ensure trouble-free operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment at required intervals.
• Maintain color, cutoff register, ink and water balance, and quality of printed material.
• Assist in training crew members and ensure safe work practices are utilized.
• Assist First Pressman with quality control, paperwork, and logs.
• Install plates and blankets, wash blankets, and gum plates.
• Check quality of make-ready procedures.
• Prepare for next job with First Pressman.
• Help with folder adjustments during makeready and on the run.
• Make roller adjustments, especially on make readies.
• Prepare and check blankets for proper packing.
• Inspect loads leaving the press.
• Maintain positive relations with visitors, customers, and employees.
• Perform all other duties assigned by management.

• Previous Second Pressman experience.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Own hand tools required.
• Ability to operate a forklift and valid forklift license.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.

• Must be in good physical condition; capable of standing, stooping, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• No fear of heights.
• Able to work in confined spaces.
• Excellent color vision required.

The work environment is indoors, involving exposure to moving mechanical parts, heights, fumes, airborne particles, and moderate noise.
