Overview
RMG is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Supply Chain & Customer Service Coordinator to support purchasing, logistics, inventory control, and customer communication. This hybrid role plays a key part in ensuring materials are sourced efficiently, orders are delivered on time, and customers receive clear, responsive support from order placement through delivery. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing supply chain coordination with customer interaction in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupply Chain & Purchasing
- Source and purchase castings, machined parts, raw materials, and related products from approved suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery terms with vendors
- Prepare and issue purchase orders aligned with customer and project requirements
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues
Shipping & Logistics
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments with carriers and freight forwarders
- Prepare and review shipping documents, including packing slips, bills of lading, and customs paperwork
- Track shipments and provide status updates to internal teams and customers
- Ensure on-time inbound and outbound deliveries
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records, stock levels, and reorder points
- Perform cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies
- Support forecasting and replenishment efforts
- Collaborate with operations to improve warehouse and storage processes
Customer Service
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and order updates
- Process customer orders and ensure accurate entry in ERP/CRM systems
- Communicate proactively regarding lead times, delivery schedules, and changes
- Support sales and operations with documentation, quotes, and follow-up
Salary: 45-55K depending on experience.
QualificationsRequired:
- 2–4 years of experience in supply chain, purchasing, logistics, or customer service
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Experience using ERP or inventory management systems
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a small-team environment
Preferred:
- Manufacturing, foundry, or metal casting industry experience
- Familiarity with international shipping and import/export documentation
- Basic knowledge of purchasing or accounting principles
Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ year of supply chain and/or customer service experience preferred
Physical Requirements
- Primarily office-based with occasional exposure to a manufacturing/warehouse environment
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking
- Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs
- Use of PPE such as safety glasses, shoes, and hearing protection as required
