CRITICAL CARE TECHNICIAN 3RD FLOOR MCU – Froedtert Health

Job Type: FTE 0.9.
Hours: 36.00 per week.
Shift: , every other holiday, every third weekend.
The Critical Care Technician assists the Registered Nurse with delegated tasks related to the acute care of the patient. Provides age‑appropriate care in a culturally and ethically sensitive manner. Reports to the Nurse Manager and the RN on duty on each assigned shift. Other duties as assigned.
EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent required.
Training- Completion of the Critical Care Tech course or equivalency within 6 months of hire.
- Successful completion of a skill competency checklist (validated by a Registered Nurse) required.
- Completion of an arrhythmia recognition course and orientation to the monitor room for monitor technician role within 6 months. Candidates with prior monitor technician experience may complete a written competency test.
Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally and in writing.
LicensureState of Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Certification required, or enrollment in a nursing program with documented completion of a basic nursing course encompassing Wisconsin administrative code criteria and at least one acute care nursing rotation. AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) or an AHA‑approved equivalent required within 90 days of hire.
