Schedule:
8 hour shifts starting around 7:30 am, Monday through Friday.
Provides support for the daily operations of Pharmacy Technician staff at the assigned location. Acts as a daily resource for Pharmacy Technicians and provides guidance regarding technical and operational information. In addition, provides technical and clerical assistance to the pharmacist in the processing of medication orders and the monitoring of drug therapy. Works with the Technician Coordinators, Pharmacists, and Managers to design and implement operational improvements and employee training.
Functions within the guidelines of the Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Code - Pharmacy Examining Board - Pharmacy Practice Sections. Perform all duties of the Pharmacy Technician as assigned. Other duties as assigned.
- Provide operational support for Pharmacy Technician staff and serve as a daily resource for technical and operational guidance.
- Assist the pharmacist in processing medication orders and monitoring drug therapy.
- Collaborate with Technician Coordinators, Pharmacists, and Managers to design and implement improvements and training.
- Adhere to Wisconsin statutes and administrative rules relevant to pharmacy practice.
- Perform all duties of the Pharmacy Technician as assigned and other duties as needed.
- EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
- A minimum of 3 years of work experience in a hospital pharmacy department is preferred.
- A minimum of 1 year of formal supervisory experience is preferred.
- EDUCATION
DESCRIPTION:- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- TRAINING
DESCRIPTION:- Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program is preferred.
- SPECIAL SKILLS
DESCRIPTION:- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group.
- Proven attention to detail; outstanding organizational and follow-up skills.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Experience with various computer systems and programs.
- LICENSURE
DESCRIPTION:- Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
- Staff hired prior to 3/31/23 must have applied for Wisconsin registration by 3/31/23 and have until 3/31/24 to obtain registration.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCE or ExCPT is required within 6 months of hire.
