Apprentice ProgramApprentice Program schedule: free 4-week program. First 2 weeks for classroom will be Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm. Last 2 weeks for clinical will be Monday - Friday, 6am - 2:30pm. Perfect attendance is required for successful completion of this program. After successful completion of the training program, you’ll be eligible to work in Froedtert Health Phlebotomy Services.
Phlebotomist
Schedule:
2nd shift, Monday thru Friday , Weekends (every 3rd) , Holiday rotation on 2nd shift
Apprentice Job Summary: The phlebotomy apprentice will develop competency in and demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of a phlebotomist. The training will include learning about laboratory equipment, proper handling methods of blood and urine specimens, anatomy and physiology, and blood-drawing techniques utilizing needles and other collection methods.
Phlebotomist Job Summary: Responsible for performing phlebotomy and various technical, non-technical, and clerical functions.
RequirementsApprentice Program Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Healthcare experience is preferred
- Familiarity with computers.
Phlebotomist Requirements:
- Completion of an approved Phlebotomy program or related health care experience including direct patient contact is required. Phlebotomy experience with a minimum of 100 venipunctures is preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- ASCP certification is preferred.
- Ability to read and write necessary to comprehend and follow equipment operating instructions, IFUs and complete required documentation.
- Basic arithmetic calculations necessary to count instruments and complete count sheets are required.
- Basic computer, problem-solving and good communication skills are required.
