Acute Care staffing will be scheduled at Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital. The float technician will have cross-coverage expectations across the oncology infusion service line (i.e., Froedtert Menomonee Falls, Froedtert West Bend, and Mequon Infusion). Scheduled hours vary based on position assignment with a mix of first and second shift. Two holidays per year, Every third weekend.

Job Summary:

This is an Acute Care Float Technician role with emphasis on supporting the oncology infusion service line. Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, the technician prepares and distributes medication and performs functions essential to the operations of the pharmacy department. Oversees training of new technician staff. Works within the Wisconsin Statutes and Administrative Code - Pharmacy Examining Board - Pharmacy Practice Sections.

Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities include supporting the oncology infusion service line and performing core pharmacy technician duties under pharmacist supervision, as described in the Job Summary above.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years in a hospital pharmacy department is preferred. For decentralized technicians, a minimum of 3 years in an outpatient/community pharmacy is preferred.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant program or equivalent work experience is preferred.

Training: Graduate of an accredited pharmacy technician training program is preferred.

Licensure: Application for Wisconsin registration as a Pharmacy Technician is required by hire date and must be obtained within 12 months of hire. Staff hired prior to 3/31/23 must have applied by 3/31/23 and have until 3/31/24 to obtain registration. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through PTCE or ExCPT is required within 6 months of hire.
