The Accounting Supervisor supports the accounting operations of a multi-unit food service organization by overseeing daily accounting activities, supervising staff, and ensuring accurate financial reporting across restaurant locations. This role is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and works closely with operations to support food, labor, and cash controls in a high‑volume food service environment.

Key Responsibilities Accounting Operations & Close
  • Support and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for multiple business units
  • Prepare and review journal entries, general ledger activity, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with preparation of unit‑level P&Ls and variance analyses
  • Support and back up A/P, A/R, Billing, Collections and operational accounting duties
  • Support inventory accounting, COGS analysis, and variance tracking
  • Assist with accounting support for new location openings, closures, and remodels
  • Ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures across all locations
Compliance & Controls
  • Support compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Maintain internal controls related to cash handling, deposits, and POS systems
  • Partner with operations and HR on wage & hour, tip, and payroll‑related matters
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise and review the work of accounting staff
  • Assist with training, workflow management, and close scheduling
  • Provide guidance to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of deliverables
Systems & Process Support
  • Work with accounting systems and operational integrations (POS, inventory)
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains
  • Assist with system implementations and upgrades
Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 4–6+ years of accounting experience, preferably in food service, hospitality, or vending
  • Experience supporting multi‑unit or high‑volume operations preferred
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
Technical Skills
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience with restaurant POS systems and inventory tools
  • ERP or accounting software experience (e.g., Net Suite, Sage, Oracle, Quick Books Enterprise, or similar)
Core Competencies
  • Strong attention to detail and follow‑through
  • Ability to manage deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Effective communicator with accounting staff and business unit operations
  • Hands‑on, process‑oriented mindset
Working Conditions
  • Occasional travel to restaurant locations may be required
  • Increased workload during month‑end close periods
