Staff Accountant

Description

Robert Half is partnering with a Menomonee Falls area company in the recruiting for a Staff Accountant who is eager to expand their skill set and advance into a project accounting-focused role. In this role, you will handle key accounting functions, including managing accounts payable, payroll processing, and project accounting tasks. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis while ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare, process, and review payroll transactions to ensure accurate and timely payroll for employees

+ Assist with accounts payable and general ledger maintenance

+ Work closely with internal departments to allocate costs, track budgets, and ensure project billing accuracy

+ Analyze and resolve discrepancies related to project expenses, payroll, and invoicing

+ Prepare ad hoc financial reports supporting project and management needs

+ Participate in audits and support documentation requests

+ Continuously seek process improvements and opportunities to automate or streamline accounting and payroll workflows

Requirements

+ Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business related field

+ 1+ years of relevant accounting experience required; internship or entry-level experience is welcomed

+ Intermediate Excel skills and familiarity with accounting/ERP systems

+ Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills

+ Ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic setting

+ Interest in professional growth into project accounting or project finance roles
