The Senior Accountant will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the preparation of recurring external financial reports-including quarterly, annual, and shareholder-related documents.
- Develop and deliver management-level financial analyses that support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Coordinate the creation of presentation materials for executive leadership groups.
- Assemble quarterly performance communications, including earnings summaries and materials used for investor and analyst discussions.
- Conduct in-depth research on complex accounting matters providing guidance and documenting conclusions to maintain compliance with reporting standards.
- Stay informed on evolving accounting regulations and standard-setting activities to evaluate potential implications to the company's reporting processes.
- Review commercial agreements and major capital initiatives to determine appropriate accounting treatment and ensure accurate financial representation.
- Perform peer and industry benchmarking to contextualize financial results and enhance reporting insights.
- Partner with external audit teams during annual audit cycles and assist in resolving technical accounting questions.
- Consolidate, analyze, and interpret financial data using advanced analytical tools and a strong understanding of accounting frameworks and business operations.
- Identify and communicate trends, variances, and drivers that impact financial outcomes.
- Validate data accuracy and synthesize information into clear, actionable reporting for internal and external use.
- Manage month-end close activities, including journal entry preparation, financial reporting packages, and account reconciliations.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support departmental goals and evolving business needs.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or closely related field
- 2+ years of related experience
- Strong attention to detail and highly organized
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
