BASIC WORKER FUNCTIONA senior individual contributor responsible for developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives in support of Enstrom manufacturing operations. This role leads complex sourcing activities across direct and indirect spend categories, including the most critical helicopter components, while ensuring compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and production timelines. The Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist conducts detailed spend and market analysis, drives RFP and contract negotiations, and partners closely with engineering, quality, supply chain, finance, and operations teams to secure reliable, high‑performing suppliers.
Operating with significant autonomy, this role provides strategic guidance on supplier selection, risk mitigation, and cost optimization critical to safe, on‑time aircraft delivery.
- Strategy & Planning:
Develop and execute long‑term sourcing strategies aligned with Enstrom’s goals. Analyze spending, identify opportunities, and establish sourcing policies and frameworks. - Supplier Relationship Management:
Identify, evaluate, and onboard strategic suppliers. Lead negotiations, monitor and manage contracts, and ensure supplier performance and accountability. - Contract Management:
Own contract lifecycle management and compliance. Develop, evaluate, and negotiate Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Statements of Work (SOWs). Develop, standardize, and maintain robust Terms & Conditions. Track and report supplier performance. - Cost &
Risk Management:
Drive sustainable cost savings and value creation. Manage procurement budgets and proactively mitigate supply chain risks. - Market & Competitive Analysis:
Monitor market trends, supplier landscapes, and competitive pricing dynamics. - Cross‑Functional
Collaboration:
Partner with planning, finance, quality, and engineering teams to align sourcing decisions with organizational priorities.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable sourcing strategies.
- Proven negotiation skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively across stakeholders.
- Exceptional attention to detail balanced with strategic, big‑picture thinking.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with and influence cross‑functional stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Planning, Quality, Engineering) at all organizational levels.
- Comfort briefing and advising senior leadership, clearly articulating sourcing strategies, trade‑offs, and recommendations.
- Sound judgment, high ethical standards, and a strong sense of integrity.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel expertise, including pivot tables, arrays, formulas, and visualization tools to analyze spend, track supplier performance, and support strategic sourcing initiatives.
- Experience with ERP systems, data management platforms, and workflow tools for procurement and supplier management.
- Familiarity with Power BI and Smartsheet a plus.
- 7+ years of relevant experience across procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, finance, and contract management.
- Aerospace or highly regulated industry experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
- ASCM certification(s) (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) a plus.
- Ability to remain in a seated or standing position for extended periods.
- Ability to walk through production areas, hangars, and job sites.
