• Be hands‑on supporting and leading teams of software engineers, research engineers, and/or research scientists.
• Remain up‑to‑date on ongoing research and software development activities in the team, help work through technical challenges, and be involved in design decisions.
• Communicate, collaborate, and build relationships with clients and peer teams to accelerate research and development across projects.
• Develop research plans, technical vision, long‑term strategy and set direction for the team and the organization.
• Present the team's work and plans in cross‑company executive forums as well as to the scientific community.
• Remain involved in the research community, both understanding trends, and setting them.

• 12+ years of experience or PhD and 8+ years of experience in a related industry research and development setting.
• 2+ years of experience managing managers, 5+ years of experience managing technical teams.
• Experience and track record of landing large research and/or product impacts in a time‑sensitive environment.
• Experience with cross functional collaboration with product and infrastructure teams, as well as non‑engineering functions.
• Demonstrated experience recruiting, building, structuring, and leading technical organizations, including performance management.
