PRN Registered Nurse

Description Position Summary

Nelson Enterprise is seeking a PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to provide professional nursing services to the inmate population for our client,
FCI Mendota
. This role supports the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) by delivering safe, competent, and timely nursing care in a secure correctional environment. This job is part of a Federal BPA contract and will have intermittent needs.

• Eight (8) hours per day
• Five (5) days per week
• Typical shift hours include:
• 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM or 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
  Shifts include a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
  . The schedule may be adjusted based on institutional needs and will not normally exceed 40 hours per week
  .

The PRN Registered Nurse will:

• Provide direct nursing care within the Health Services Department
• Support medical operations for an inmate population in a correctional setting
• Follow facility policies, procedures, and all security requirements
• Respond appropriately to medical needs and emergencies
• Maintain professionalism and clinical standards at all times

• Active and unincumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license from any state
• Three (3) or more years of nursing experience
• Ability to work effectively in a secure correctional environment
• CPR/Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association
• Proof of Education and credentials
• Current Competencies/CE credits
• The ability to pass a Federal Background check
