TRANSPORTATION TECHNICIAN 3 (TMC Tech III) — an advanced technician position that will work indoors and on-site in a control room environment to monitor roadways and ensure the safe and efficient movement of traffic. They will be tasked with managing scheduled and unscheduled traffic incidents, and dispatching responders accordingly by utilizing Intelligent Transportation Systems devices.

• Work indoors and on-site in a control room environment to monitor roadways and ensure safe and efficient traffic movement.
• Manage scheduled and unscheduled traffic incidents and dispatch responders accordingly using Intelligent Transportation Systems devices.
• Operate computer-based traffic management systems to manage traffic and incidents on roadways and improve traffic conditions.
• Monitor roadways via traffic surveillance cameras and detection systems.
• Monitor all traffic devices and computer equipment associated with the system.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of the operation of all traffic equipment, computers and software associated with the traffic systems.
• Become familiar with roadways and understand the purpose and location of traffic devices.
• Communicate with multiple agencies to coordinate resources for incidents that may affect regional travel.
• Perform duties with minimal supervision and follow established procedures.
• Identify more complex issues and refer them to a supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• The initial contract will be for 30-90 days but is subject to extension upon good performance.
• Available shifts will be noted at the time the interviews are set up.

• Customer service experience (highly preferred)
• Experience contributing within a team environment
• Solid communication skills
• Basic computer knowledge
• Operational knowledge of MS Office and MS Outlook
• Dispatch or call center experience (highly preferred)
