We are seeking DOT drivers to support our mission‑critical data center operations. This position combines the expertise of commercial driving with the excitement of working in advanced technology environments. As a key member of our logistics team, you'll operate power PIT equipment and company vehicles, handle specialized data center equipment deliveries, and work with industry‑leading technology in a stable, growing division of Amazon.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate power PIT equipment and company vehicles.

  • Safe operation of commercial vehicles according to DOT regulations.
  • Daily vehicle inspection and maintenance reporting.
  • Proper cargo loading, securing, and unloading procedures.
  • Accurate completion of electronic logs and delivery documentation.
  • Route planning and navigation using GPS technology.
  • Timely communication regarding route status.
  • Maintain compliance with all DOT hours‑of‑service regulations.
  • Professional customer interaction during pickup and delivery.
  • Proper handling of shipping documentation and electronic devices.
  • Immediate reporting of any accidents, incidents, or cargo damage.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of vehicle.
  • Follow all company safety protocols and procedures.
  • Utilize advanced tracking systems to maintain real‑time visibility of in‑transit inventory.
  • Collaborate with team members using Microsoft tools and other tools to optimize route planning and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and data entry for all transported items.
  • Adhere to strict security protocols when handling sensitive equipment.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with leadership and on‑site teams.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve efficiency and reduce transit times.
  • Adapt quickly to changing priorities and urgent delivery needs.
A Day in the Life

The Transportation Professional operates commercial vehicles to ensure timely and safe delivery of materials while maintaining compliance with all DOT regulations. Working with Transportation Leadership, the professional executes delivery plans, maintains accurate documentation, and optimizes route efficiency. The role involves close collaboration with Data Center teams and warehouse personnel to ensure proper loading, securing, and delivery of cargo, as well as interfacing with customers at delivery locations and maintaining professional communication throughout the delivery process.

Transportation Professionals are expected to understand all aspects of commercial vehicle operation, adhere to strict safety standards, maintain very high quality of service, and be proficient in using electronic logging devices and mobile delivery applications. Candidates should be willing to work both independently and with a team. Time management, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing conditions are critical to success.

Required schedule may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Regional travel is inherent to the position. Candidates must maintain a valid Driver’s License, meet all DOT physical requirements, hold a good driving record, and be able to pass a DOT physical.

Basic Qualifications
  • High‑school diploma or equivalent.
  • Age 18 or older.
  • Experience in a 24×7 operational services or support environment.
  • Experience with DOT regulations and requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of computer hardware components and operating systems.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system and coordination with a manager.
  • Background in STEM classes or vocational courses.
  • Experience in Commercial Transportation Law.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
  • Meets or exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements and has the functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.
