Overview

General Warehouse Worker - Topeka, Kansas

Start rate $22 per hour; $1000 retention bonus.

Schedule:

Saturday, Sunday and Monday, 6am to 6pm.

• Safely operate a forklift or other powered material handling equipment (MHE) to move and stack finished goods and packaging material; may perform duties as an order selector, unloader, or loader as required.
• Drive electric MHE with lifting devices (forklift, walkie, rider, reach truck) and operate push/pull devices to move product, equipment, or materials.
• Operate Stretch Wrapper and Inverter in the Warehouse DC.
• Obtain a JM Smucker Forklift Driver's License and demonstrate safe forklift operations.
• Perform daily pre-operational inspections of power equipment and document activities on inspection sheets; keep forklift battery area clean and service batteries; change batteries as needed.
• Review, understand, and follow operator responsibilities of all JSA’s, SOPs, and Safe Practices for the Warehouse DC.
• Load, unload, stack, and stage product using forklift, walkie, rider, or other power equipment.
• Receiving/Putaway: unload inbound shipments and move product to storage locations.
• Order Picking: pull and prepare product for shipment with exact quantity and type.
• Loading: move product from staging/storage into trailers or containers.
• Quality: ensure inbound/outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; report variances.
• WMS/Inventory: use warehouse management system with RF capabilities for all operations, including order selection, moves, receiving, loading, and cycle counting.
• Safety, Housekeeping, Security: maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area; comply with OSHA and applicable standards; support safety programs and report issues to management.
• Report maintenance issues promptly; communicate with oncoming and departing shifts.
• Wear appropriate PPE; perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
