Position: Memphis East High School is looking for a head football coach

Overview

Memphis East T-Stem Academy is seeking a Head Football Coach. Memphis East T-Stem Academy is a leading educational institution dedicated to integrating STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) principles with a comprehensive athletic program. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, a commitment to student development, and a proven track record of success in coaching football at the high school level. As the Head Football Coach, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a competitive team, fostering a positive team culture, and promoting the academic and athletic success of their student-athletes.

Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership & Development.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive football program aligned with the academy’s mission and values.
  • Train and mentor student-athletes, emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship.
  • Create and execute practice schedules, game plans, and training programs to enhance team performance.
  • Administrative Duties
  • Manage all aspects of the football program, including budgeting, scheduling, and equipment maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with all school policies, state athletic regulations, and league requirements.
  • Coordinate with academic staff to monitor and support the academic progress of student-athletes.
  • Community Engagement
  • Foster positive relationships with parents, alumni, and the local community to support the football program.
  • Organize and participate in community service initiatives and school events related to athletics.
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Stay current with the latest coaching techniques, strategies, and trends in high school football.
  • Attend coaching clinics, workshops, and conferences to enhance professional development.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Valid coaching certification as required by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA).
  • Minimum of 5 years of coaching experience at the high school level.
