Position: Innovation Coordinator - Gibson County & Surrounding Counties

Innovation Coordinator – Tennessee

Charles Lea Center is looking to hire a full‑time Innovation Coordinator in Gibson County.

Note:

you do not have to reside in Gibson County, but you will serve Gibson County and surrounding counties.

An Innovation Coordinator earns a competitive wage of $21.29 per hour.

An Innovation Coordinator (IC) works under the guidance of the Regional Manager of Innovative Services. The primary focus of the IC is to support people to live more effective and meaningful lives by working with them to secure nontraditional services that encompass a combination of staff supports and enabling technologies. This includes residential, employment, and community supports. Key areas include assessment, person‑centered / MAPs planning, linking people to services, training, and advocacy.

We are looking for an Innovation Coordinator to help us develop and implement a unique and new service in Tennessee designed to help young adults in the communities where they live, learn, work, and play. Using a unique approach built around person‑centered, employment‑first, and technology‑first thinking. We are looking for an Innovation Coordinator who is grounded in person‑centered thinking and who can foster a creative and forward‑thinking approach to providing services in Tennessee.

The Charles Lea Center is a CQL accredited organization based in Spartanburg, South Carolina and provides services in South Carolina, North Carolina, and recently was awarded a contract with the Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging (DDA) to provide services in that state. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to effectively read, write, and communicate verbally in English
  • Ability to pass a background check upon hire
  • Valid driver's license
  • Vehicle insurance
REQUIREMENTS
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a human services field; or
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a non‑related field and one year of relevant experience; or
  • Associate degree and two years of relevant experience; or
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalent with four years of relevant case management experience providing or coordinating services to people with disabilities and special needs and/or with case management services.

* Relevant experience means experience working directly with persons with intellectual, developmental, or other types of disabilities or mental illness.

A DAY AS THE INNOVATION COORDINATOR
  • Provide services and supports focused on achieving goals for the people we support.
  • Provide technical assistance to community providers implementing services for people referred.
  • Advocate on behalf of person/guardian to assure that services being provided reflect the desires of the person/guardian.
  • Upon successfully transitioning to community services, conduct 30‑, 60‑, and 90‑day follow‑up to assure satisfaction with services and that desired outcomes are being achieved.
  • Follow the standards and regulations required by the Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging (DDA).
