Installation Technician, Security Systems Installation
Job Description
Technicians will support security installation and service across many different commercial settings. Work includes access control, cameras, structured cabling, and network security device installation. Candidates must be comfortable working on a variety of commercial job sites and collaborating with field teams.
Responsibilities- Install, service, and maintain:
- Access control systems (readers, panels, electrified hardware)
- Video surveillance systems (IP/analog cameras, VMS equipment)
- Structured cabling (Cat5/6, fiber, cable pathways)
- Wireless access points and security/network devices
- Install and troubleshoot door hardware: locks, strikes, sensors, crash bars.
- Read and interpret blueprints, risers, and wiring diagrams.
- Perform terminations, testing, labeling, and cable routing.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain proper use of tools/PPE.
- Communicate with project teams and assist where needed across job sites.
- Maintain organization, tool upkeep, and accurate documentation.
- 1+ year of experience in low voltage, security, cabling, or electronics.
- Hands‑on experience with access control and CCTV systems.
- Ability to install, terminate, and test low‑voltage cabling.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working independently.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to pass background and drug screening.
- Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic.
- Exposure to commercial access control platforms:
Axis - Door hardware experience (Allegion, ASSA ABLOY).
- Fiber installation/termination experience.
- Experience with VMS/head‑end equipment.
- Comfort working on lifts (scissor/boom).
We are seeking a mix of lead‑level technicians (strong access control/security experience) and entry‑level to mid‑level installers who are coachable and ready to grow. Candidates with at least 2 years of commercial cabling experience and a desire to move into access control/security will also be considered.
Work Environment- Typical schedule:
4x10s, Monday–Thursday (occasional Fridays as needed). - Some projects require meeting at the office and riding in a company vehicle to job sites.
- Basic hand tools required; specialized tools and PPE provided.
- Field‑based role with daily travel to active job sites.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
