Position: Mechanic II-4
Job Summary
Employees in positions at this level of the series support achievement of plant objectives through maintaining manufacturing or packaging equipment at required operating levels by adjusting or replacing parts as necessary to facilitate the repair and/or changeover of equipment to manufacture or package various products. Also maintain manufacturing and/or packaging equipment at required operating levels, through the performance of preventative/predictive maintenance and major overhauls in order to meet departmental production standards on equipment.

Communicate clearly in English both verbally and writtenWear appropriate required safety gearAttend work regularly and reliablyWork overtime as scheduled or directedOperate computers to access/utilize company e-mail and to monitor equipmentDemonstrate awareness of and compliance with all pertinent safety policies and proceduresMaintain a clean and organized work environmentOperate mobile equipment in a safe mannerParticipate in work related training programs and adhere to Company Core ValuesMeet progression plan requirements for 30, 60, 90, 120 day orientationInstall and align new equipmentGather/process data from multiple sources related to electrical/mechanical failuresService, troubleshoot and repair any problem of any electrical/mechanical naturePerform preventative/predictive maintenance on equipment as assignedUtilize SAP to search for spare part locationWork with outside vendors to troubleshoot/diagnose/correct equipment problemsTroubleshoot and maintain PLCs and VSDsInstall /align pump coupling and v‑belts, install bearings, install/connect motors/startersMaintain/replace/rebuild process/utility equipment (C‑30 Drive spindle, Grinder UT 62 spindle, Labour pumps, etc)Plan/assemble/install/maintain/troubleshoot/repair electrical fixtures and wiringTest/repair fire alarm systems, water and gas distribution, fuel oil, cooling tower and compressed air systemsRemove and replace electric motor heaters and remove and install centrifugesChange and clean air conditioner coils and filtersMeasure vibrations and perform typical soldering, acetylene cutting and welding of an advanced naturePerform pipe fitting layout, installation and repair workPack steam valves and install pump packingRemove and replace valves and inspect/troubleshoot pump systemsInspect and replace hoses, blowout panelsSight glass installationUse basic hand and power tools and shop equipment competentlyPerform preventative/predictive maintenance on equipment as assignedInstall and align new equipmentTroubleshoot mechanical failures repair mechanical failuresGather and process data from multiple sources related to electrical failuresVerify job is complete and machine made whole before turnoverExecute assigned work orders and accept a minimum of 60% of call‑insContinuously build a body of technical knowledge to master new skillsWork with outside vendors to troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct equipment problemsPerform PLC 2 and 5 programmingCalibrate and tune process control loopsAnalysis and/or troubleshooting using Allen‑Bradley T‑3, T‑50, T‑47 shop computerExecute work ordersPerform preventative/predictive maintenance on equipment as assignedLayout and complete one‑man jobsPlan, assemble, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical fixtures and wiringInstall and connect motors and startersTest and repair fire alarm systems, water distribution, fuel oil, gas distribution, cooling tower, and compressed air systemPerform job duties in a manner that follow food safety and quality guidelines including but not limited to HACCP, GMPs, QA Policies, Sanitation, and Pest Control.We are a global leader in taste, scent, and nutrition, offering our customers a broader range of natural solutions and accelerating our growth strategy.
