In this position you will independently perform preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance tasks on a variety of mail processing equipment, buildings, and delivery vehicles.
Responsibilities include:
maintaining plumbing, heating, refrigeration, and air conditioning systems; repairing simple control circuitry, bearings, chains, motors, belts and other equipment components; assembling, installing, replacing, repairing, modifying or adjusting small operating equipment; and under the direction of skilled maintenance employees, disassembling, replacing parts, relocating and reassembling equipment.
Applicants must successfully complete the Postal Service Test 955 for the Maintenance Mechanic job group, which measures maintenance knowledge, skills and abilities.
