Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic
Overview
We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Memphis, TN. You will make an impact in the following ways:
- Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
- Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
- Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
- Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
- Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
- Maintain own tools
- Communicates effectively
- Customer focus – delivering customer-centric solutions
- Develops talent – developing people to meet goals
- Self-development – pursuing growth opportunities
- Situational adaptability – adjusting approach to different situations
- Diagnostics application – troubleshoot and document results
- Electronic service tool application – use appropriate tools for service resolution
- Engine systems interactions – diagnose and repair electrical/mechanical systems
- Product repair and maintenance – perform repairs following guidelines and maintain work area
- Service documentation – record data in service management systems
- Technical escalation – escalate issues as needed and document steps
- Values differences – recognize diverse perspectives
- Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
- Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
- Locally Valid Driving Permit (Preferred)
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations
- Advanced knowledge/experience with engine products
- Experience providing technical advice and coaching to junior technicians (preferred)
- Completed DMV driving record, 2 years driving experience required; must be at least 18 years old
- DOT: A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 or older
- Current valid license required for this role
- 5 year motor vehicle report free from major violations
- Role may be subject to random drug and alcohol testing
