Ideal Chemical & Supply Company, a privately owned Chemical Distributor in Memphis Tennessee, is looking for an Account Manager in Training based in the Memphis Tennessee market.
Preferred experience includes a Bachelor’s degree in Sales or Chemistry. This role is based out of our corporate office in Memphis Tennessee, where the candidate will learn how to successfully manage a territory. Upon completion of this program, the candidate will continue to learn as sales support until transitioning into a sales role within Ideal.
Job Duties of an Account Manager:- Engage and meet with customers in an existing book of business to grow relationships and sales
- Uncover potential sales growth with new and existing customers through inquiry, observation and research
- Prepare and conduct sales presentations to new and existing customers
- Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend solutions
- Maintain and improve customer relationships and satisfaction
- Assist clients with special requests and problem resolution
- Negotiate and establish customer pricing and terms
- Collaborate internally with management and integral departments to ensure customer success
- Gather competitive information and other market information regularly while interacting cooperatively with other members of the distribution team
- Remain current on product and industry knowledge by attending sales meetings, vendor training, trade shows, or reading trade journals
- Practice honesty and integrity in all customer and vendor relations
- Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors
- Effective listening and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Problem-solving and analytical ability
- Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making ability
- Able to perform business math (basic algebra, compute rate, ratio, etc.)
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
