Ideal Chemical & Supply Company | Memphis, TN 38118 Chemical Sales Account Manager

Ideal Chemical & Supply Company, a privately owned Chemical Distributor in Memphis Tennessee, is looking for an Account Manager in Training based in the Memphis Tennessee market.

Preferred experience includes a Bachelor’s degree in Sales or Chemistry. This role is based out of our corporate office in Memphis Tennessee, where the candidate will learn how to successfully manage a territory. Upon completion of this program, the candidate will continue to learn as sales support until transitioning into a sales role within Ideal.

Job Duties of an Account Manager:
  • Engage and meet with customers in an existing book of business to grow relationships and sales
  • Uncover potential sales growth with new and existing customers through inquiry, observation and research
  • Prepare and conduct sales presentations to new and existing customers
  • Determine customer requirements and expectations to recommend solutions
  • Maintain and improve customer relationships and satisfaction
  • Assist clients with special requests and problem resolution
  • Negotiate and establish customer pricing and terms
  • Collaborate internally with management and integral departments to ensure customer success
  • Gather competitive information and other market information regularly while interacting cooperatively with other members of the distribution team
  • Remain current on product and industry knowledge by attending sales meetings, vendor training, trade shows, or reading trade journals
  • Practice honesty and integrity in all customer and vendor relations
  • Present a professional image at all times to customers and vendors
Requirements:
  • Effective listening and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Problem-solving and analytical ability
  • Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making ability
  • Able to perform business math (basic algebra, compute rate, ratio, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
