Our client, a growing and well-established food manufacturing company, is seeking a Senior Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Manager to lead and continuously strengthen their food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance programs. This role is critical to ensuring product integrity, customer confidence, and regulatory readiness across all operations.
The Senior FSQA Manager will serve as a hands-on leader, partnering closely with Operations, Maintenance, Sanitation, and R&D to drive a strong food safety culture while maintaining compliance with all applicable food safety standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and oversee all Food Safety and Quality Assurance programs
, ensuring compliance with FDA, USDA (if applicable), and customer requirements - Own and maintain HACCP, Preventive Controls, GMPs, SSOPs, allergen control, and food defense programs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for third‑party, regulatory, and customer audits (SQF, BRC, FSSC 22000, FDA, USDA, customer audits, etc.)
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve policies, procedures, and quality systems to support operational excellence
- Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) related to food safety, quality deviations, and customer complaints
- Partner with Operations and Sanitation to ensure effective environmental monitoring and sanitation programs
- Manage, mentor, and develop FSQA team members, fostering accountability and professional growth
- Review and approve product specifications, labels, ingredient documentation, and supplier compliance materials
- Monitor and analyze quality metrics and trends, providing data‑driven recommendations to leadership
- Stay current with regulatory changes and industry best practices

- Bachelor’s degree required in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related scientific discipline
- 7+ years of progressive FSQA experience within a food manufacturing environment
- Proven leadership experience managing FSQA teams and cross‑functional initiatives
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP, Preventive Controls (PCQI), GMPs, and food safety regulations
- Experience leading and responding to third‑party and regulatory audits
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Hands‑on, proactive leadership style with strong problem‑solving skills
- Advanced certifications such as PCQI, HACCP, SQF Practitioner, or equivalent
- Experience in high‑volume or multi‑line food manufacturing operations
- Exposure to both FDA‑ and customer‑driven compliance environments
