The Senior Engineer, Quality is a key driver of quality performance across Brother’s manufacturing, service, and distribution (3PL) operations. This role develops and maintains quality performance metrics, leads problem‑solving initiatives, and drives corrective and preventive actions to improve process capability, reliability, and customer satisfaction. Working cross‑functionally with Operations, Engineering, Service, Logistics, and Compliance, this position ensures consistent quality standards, data‑driven decision‑making, and continuous improvement across all supply chain functions.
The Senior Engineer, Quality plays a pivotal role in turning quality data into actionable improvements that strengthen Brother’s overall Quality Management System (QMS).
- Develop and maintain key quality metrics and dashboards to monitor performance across manufacturing, service, and distribution (3PL) sites (e.g., non‑conformance, first pass yield, defect trends, supplier recovery, inspection accuracy, customer complaints)
- Analyze performance data to identify patterns, emerging risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Present findings and recommendations to site and corporate leadership
- Collaborate across functions to ensure data integrity and alignment on improvement priorities
- Lead or facilitate root cause analysis (5‑Why, Fishbone, 8D) to resolve systemic issues and prevent recurrence
- Translate metric insights into targeted improvement projects with measurable impact
- Drive closure and verification of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to ensure sustainability
- Champion a preventive quality mindset across manufacturing, service, and distribution teams
- Oversee and support the NCM process, including investigation, documentation, and disposition of nonconforming materials, products, or components
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to contain, correct, and prevent recurrence of quality issues
- Support incoming inspection planning, sampling strategies, and data analysis to ensure consistency across all receiving and service operations
- Provide training and guidance to inspection and service teams as needed
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of Brother’s QMS in accordance with ISO 9001 and corporate standards
