Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level I Trauma Center requiring travel and large hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Medical Surgical unit at a large, short-term acute care hospital

• Level I Trauma Center environment with a patient ratio of 1:6/7

• Day shifts available (4x12 hours, 7:00-19:00)

• On-call and weekend shifts required as needed

• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within 20 miles

• No block schedules, but weekend blocks may be considered

• Cerner EMR is used; experience preferred

• Responsibilities include caring for a diverse Med/Surg patient population in a high-acuity trauma setting

• Must be willing to work assigned holidays per facility policy

• All requested time off must be included with initial application

• Former employees must be separated for at least one year before eligible to return as travelers

• Return to work eligibility subject to review

• Vaccination status must be disclosed for consideration

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license required prior to assignment

• Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg experience required; 3+ years preferred

• Level I trauma experience required

• Prior large hospital experience required

• At least 1 completed previous travel assignment required

• No first-time travelers accepted

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher accepted

• BLS certification required

• All candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility

• Pending licensure not accepted; all credentials must be active
