Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a TN or compact license and at least two years of recent OR experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Operating Room setting

• Care for surgical patients including potential transplant cases

• Day shift, 3x12 hour shifts, with specific start times discussed in interview

• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within 20 miles, though rare

• Call responsibilities to be discussed during interview

• Some transplant experience is preferred

• May be required to float between like units and nearby campuses as needed

• Holiday coverage required: must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) if assignment covers all three, or at least 1 if only two occur during assignment

• Returning travelers or former staff must have a separation of at least one year before being eligible for rehire

• All time off (RTO) must be requested at the time of application; no additional RTO will be approved after submission

• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position

Requirements

• Active TN or compact RN license at the time of consideration; pending or non-NLC licenses are not accepted

• Minimum 2 years recent Operating Room RN experience with prior travel; 3 years required if no travel experience

• At least one completed previous travel assignment required

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) accepted

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be current

• Cerner EMR experience preferred

• Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility

• Driver’s license required for consideration
