Overview
RN, 11PM - 7AM, MON-FRI — Trezevant, Memphis, TN
Summary Of Position:
Provide professional nursing care according to ANA Standards of Nursing Practice in conformance with recognized nursing techniques and procedures, established standards and administrative policies.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer medications (p.o., IM, Subq); manage IVs (including central lines and PICC lines); perform care tasks and treatments such as catheterization (Foley), G-tube insertions; tube care and suction; operation of special beds; dressing changes as ordered per policy and procedure.
- Operate necessary equipment to carry out physician orders.
- Identify basic physical and psychological needs and plan appropriate nursing interventions.
- Process medical and nursing orders according to Trezevant’s policies and procedures.
- Intervene according to facility policy and procedure in emergencies or life-threatening situations.
- Report timely with pertinent data between outgoing and incoming shifts.
- Independently accountable for own actions - requiring minimal supervision.
- Supervise ancillary nursing staff effectively.
- Collaborate with other members of health care teams to promote quality resident care and assume responsibility for the care given under supervision.
- Demonstrate knowledge, communication skills, and values needed for effective teamwork.
- Plan appropriate nursing interventions.
- Charting and documenting significant observations of residents reflecting the nursing process.
- Assess and identify resident problems, symptoms, and behavioral changes.
- Organize nursing care and daily routine efficiently for assigned unit.
- Confer with physicians and other health care professionals as needed to promote quality resident care.
- Maintain patience, diplomacy, and tact in dealing with residents and their families; apply effective communication skills.
- Maintain attendance in accordance with the Employee Handbook.
- State of TN or multi-state license as a Registered Nurse
- Must possess a current CPR certification.
