Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position requiring recent Level I trauma and travel experience.

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg unit with float to ED overflow as needed
• Patient care delivered in a team nursing model including LPNs, RNs, Nurse Techs, and Resource Nurse
• Level I trauma center environment serving a diverse adult patient population
• Day shifts (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00) with options for 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekend and on-call requirements as needed
• Floating may occur between like units and campuses within 20 miles, though cross-campus floating is rare
• EMR is Cerner; experience preferred
• Perform direct nursing care and coordinate with team members for patient management
• Must be willing to work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) if assignment spans those dates; for assignments with 2 holidays, at least one must be worked
• RTO must be declared at the time of consideration and will not be approved after offer
• Scrub or dress code details will be provided upon assignment
• Vaccination status must be documented as part of the credentialing process

• Active TN or compact RN license required and must be in hand at the time of consideration
• Minimum of 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience required; 3 years preferred
• Level I trauma center experience required
• At least one completed prior travel assignment required
• Large hospital experience required
• Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Current BLS certification required
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
• No first-time travelers unless 3+ years recent experience in specialty
• Former employees must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
