Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position with Level I Trauma and prior travel assignment requirements.

• Work in a Med/Surg unit at a large short-term acute care hospital
• Team nursing model with assigned ratios including LPNs, RNs, Nurse Techs, and Resource Nurse
• Night shifts (3x12 hours), with some flexibility for 36- or 48-hour work weeks
• Floating required to ED overflow, like units, and rarely to campuses within 20 miles
• Patient population includes high-acuity medical and surgical cases in a Level I Trauma setting
• Cerner EMR is used, with previous experience preferred
• On-call and weekend coverage required as needed
• Candidates must be willing to work 2 out of 3 major end-of-year holidays if assignment covers Thanksgiving, Christmas, or New Year's
• All requested time off must be included at time of application; no additional RTO will be honored after offer is made
• Scrub or dress code requirements will be communicated prior to start
• Former permanent or internal employees must be separated for at least one year before eligible to return as a traveler
• Priority for floating is given based on staffing needs and may include like units or campuses within 20 miles

• Active TN or compact RN license with no pending licensure
• Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Surg RN experience in a large hospital; 3 years preferred
• At least one completed previous travel assignment
• Level I Trauma Center experience required
• No first-time travelers unless with 3+ years recent specialty experience
• ADN accepted for this unit
• Current BLS certification
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
