Position: LPN- LTC, 3pm-11pm
SUMMARY OF POSITION

The LPN in the Allen Morgan Health Care Center will provide professional nursing care according to ANA Standards of Nursing Practice in conformance with recognized nursing techniques and procedures, established standards and administrative policies. This position works under the direction of an RN supervisor and Director of Nursing to help achieve the optimum levels of care for our residents. on evenings, the LPN will earn and addition $2.00 per hour for that shift.

This position works Monday - Friday, 3pm - 11pm.

PRIMARY DUTIES

1. Administer medications (p.o. IM, Subq), manage all types of IV's effectively (central lines, PICC lines), perform special care tasks and treatments such as catheterization (foley), G tube insertions, tube care and suction, operations of specialty beds, dressing changes as ordered per Trezevant policy;

2. Operate necessary equipment properly to carry out physician orders;

3. Identify basic physical and psychological needs and plan appropriate nursing interventions;

4. Process medical and nursing orders according to Trezevant's policies and procedures;

5. Intervene according to facility policy and procedure in emergency or life threatening situations;

6. Report timely with pertinent data in a concise manner between outgoing and incoming shifts;

7. Independently accountable for own actions, requiring minimal supervision;

8. Perform other activities as assigned;

9. Collaborate with other members of the health care team to promote quality resident care and assume responsibility for the care given under their direct supervision;

10. Plan appropriate nursing interventions and chart timely and effectively with significant and meaningful observations of the residents while always reflecting nursing process and delivery of resident care;

11. Assess and identify resident problems, symptoms and behavioral changes and organizing the daily nursing routine for unit;

12. confer with physicians and other health care professionals as needed to promote quality resident care;

1. State of TN or multi-state license as a Licensed Practical Nurse, in good standing.

2. Must possess a current CPR certification.
