Since 1969, Lakeside has been the premier provider of specialized behavioral health and addictive disease services in the Memphis and Mid‑South region. The 365‑bed facility is one of the largest free‑standing psychiatric hospitals in the United States. We are located on a serene 37‑acre campus in northeast Shelby County, serving as the setting for the treatment for children, adolescents, young adults, adults and seniors.
Lakeside’s comprehensive programs treat disorders such as bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression and anxiety, mental illness and addictive disease disorders such as alcoholism, drug addiction and substance abuse.
The Advanced Practice Nurse is responsible for providing primary healthcare to patients and families, focusing on health maintenance, disease prevention, patient education and counseling. The Advance Practice Nurse works under direct supervision of a physician following established guidelines as required and within established scope of practice.

Staff must demonstrate flexibility for reassignment to units providing care to varied populations including male and female adults and dually diagnosed patients.
JOBSPECIFICATIONS
Education: Master’s degree graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program required.
Experience: One-year prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing preferred.
Licensure/Certification: Licensure and registration by the Tennessee Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Nurse.
Knowledge: Knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management and CPR training preferred.
Supervision Received: Medical Doctor
Supervision Exercised: N/A
