Overview
The Community Development Manager – West Tennessee supports the organization’s mission by leading community outreach, capacity building, and relationship development across targeted markets. Reporting to the Regional Director, this role develops and executes strategies that generate lending and educational opportunities aligned with small business, affordable housing, sustainability, and community development goals. This position plays a key role in expanding regional impact through partnerships, client engagement, and program leadership.

- Develop and implement outreach strategies to generate new loan and educational opportunities aligned with the organization’s CDFI markets and program focus areas.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with community organizations, government agencies, financial institutions, and local businesses throughout West Tennessee.
- Represent the organization at community events, conferences, and public forums to promote loan products, education services, and community programs.
- Design and execute a comprehensive community development plan supporting capacity building, training, and access to capital for small businesses, housing, and sustainability initiatives.
- Lead and facilitate community development programs and forums, both internally and within the community.
- Qualify prospective loan and education clients and support the development of new business opportunities.
- Provide one‑on‑one technical assistance to clients pre‑loan and post‑loan, as needed.
- Contribute to marketing materials and outreach tools to support regional growth initiatives.
- Meet annual loan origination and education impact goals based on experience and organizational objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required in Business, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Experience in community development, financial services, or CDFI‑related work.
- Strong relationship‑building, sales, and negotiation skills with the ability to generate and close opportunities.
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of affordable housing and sustainability initiatives is preferred.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and thrive in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.
