Electrical Assembly Technician (1st and 2nd Shift) Job Description
Join our team to assist in the mechanical and electrical assembly of customer products. As an Electrical Assembly Technician, you will utilize your skills in reading and understanding wiring schematics and diagrams to perform electrical builds. This role demands experience with crimping, pulling, terminating, and installing electrical harnesses and sub-assemblies.
Responsibilities- Perform electrical and mechanical assembly, including panel wiring, while adhering to safety, quality, and customer specifications.
- Assemble finished units per customer specifications, including pulling wire, crimping, installing, and testing wiring harnesses using voltmeter and ohmmeter.
- Conduct part replacements on tools as needed and according to schedule.
- Resolve routine questions and problems, referring complex issues to higher levels.
- Work under direct supervision with frequent monitoring of output.
- Follow detailed written or verbal instructions, including visual aids, diagrams, and schematics.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
- Comply with all procedures within the company security policy.
- Coordinate with teammates to organize tasks requiring multiple team members.
- Keep inventory personnel informed of spare parts inventory and locations for ease of order fulfillment.
- Perform real-time testing for point-to-point wiring to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Experience in electrical wiring and assembly, with a minimum of 1+ years in the field.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, graphs, schematics, and wiring schedules.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools for electrical assembly.
- Skill in using multimeters for electrical testing.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with the capability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
Skills & Qualifications
- Schooling experience in lieu of hands‑on experience is acceptable from institutions such as TCAT, Delta Tech, Moore Tech, or Southwest.
- Familiarity with control panels, soldering, and industrial panel building.
- Experience in related fields such as avionics technicians, A&P technicians, or electrical assembly technicians.

WorkEnvironment
Work in a clean, temperature‑controlled environment with large working areas. The electrical assembly area consists of cell stations where teams of 5‑7 technicians collaborate to assemble units to specification. Tools and materials necessary for the job are provided, with no outside tools required. The position operates on a 2nd shift schedule, with hours from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday. After initial training, the shift changes to 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with the expectation of availability on Saturdays if needed.
Training is conducted in a classroom setting, emphasizing safety, electrical wiring, and standard protocols. Strict adherence to conduct policies is enforced during training and in the production environment.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $29.15 - $29.15/hr.
