Coordinates and directs the daily activities of the work area. Performs the same responsibilities as members of the team, and in addition provides work leadership by assisting team members in meeting production goals. Diagnoses problems, interprets drawings and work instructions, assists Process Engineering with document preparation and root‑cause analysis of high‑level assemblies, and ensures appropriate training takes place for all team members.

Works under general supervision. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals. Performs advanced functions during training and development, and serves as a resource to others in resolving more complex problems. Errors can cause significant delay, expense and disruption.

• Coordinates and directs the day‑to‑day activities of the work area. Prepares work area for daily production runs and ensures parts and materials are available for production. Ensures production schedule is followed, monitors production and escalates issues as necessary. Prepares manufacturing production reports as required. Ensures 5S+1 is practiced in the cell. Provides work leadership, trains team members on workstations, and coordinates training.
  
  Must attend regularly, stand up 100% of the time, lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lb occasionally, twist and bend. Overtime, conflicting deadlines and changing priorities are expected. (45%)
• Covers for other team members when absences occur. Provides information and coordinates action plans at cross‑functional meetings and communicates issues with team members or visitors to drive corrective actions. Provides information to the Facilitator on team members’ performance. Resolves conflict and escalates issues within Manufacturing and to appropriate support groups. (25%)
• Reviews employee attendance records. Monitors, edits, and may sign off employee timecards with Facilitator approval. Recommends vacation and personal time requests based on manpower needs, with final approval reserved for the Facilitator. (10%)
• Recruits, trains, and monitors the performance of Manufacturing Technicians. (10%)
• Ensures that employees follow safety and ESD practices. Interfaces with other personnel and customers to acquire information and correct recurring failures. (5%)
• Performs other related duties as assigned. (5%)

• Knowledge of electronics component identification, proper handling, packaging media and placement techniques.
• Ability to read and understand assembly drawings and schematics.
• Jabil QC certification required within three months of attaining this position.
• Basic understanding of pneumatic assembly drawings is preferred but not required.
• Basic electricity and plumbing knowledge is preferred but not required.
• Solder skills are preferred but not required.
