Quality Supervisor - 2nd Shift

Quality Supervisor - 2nd Shift – Hyosung HICO LTD.

Lead inspection and testing activities on the 2nd shift to ensure products meet quality and safety standards while supporting production and customer delivery schedules.

• Supervise inspection/testing staff with emphasis on positive employee relations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Maintain positive customer relations during inspection/testing operations.
• Observe and monitor inspection and test execution to ensure product conformance to requirements.
• Lead inspection/test to successful completion while meeting production and customer delivery schedules.
• Implement countermeasures to assure on‑time and on‑quality final product and product test.
• Provide leadership, direction, support and training for inspection and test inspectors.
• Lead lean quality improvement team to meet yearly improvement goals; communicate performance to team manager.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, coordinating and planning activities related to inspection and test inspectors.
• Practice 6S and ensure department adherence to all safety rules, guidelines and safe working practices.
• Train, implement and sustain lean manufacturing/quality principles through continuous improvement events.
• Promote a culture of process control and quality excellence by leading problem solving, failure investigations and appropriate countermeasures; support and recommend policy improvements.
• Understand HICO’s Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies; be able to discuss their importance and impact.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Supervise test equipment and tool inspections/calibration as required.

• Associate’s Degree in a technical or business field with at least 5 years of experience in electrical testing in an electrical, utility, industrial, or manufacturing setting, or equivalent education and experience.
• Time‑keeping and coordination skills to effectively assign team members.
• Supervisory skills to lead teams and meet production schedule requirements.
• General knowledge of electrical power systems.
• General knowledge of inspection tools, instruments and equipment.
• Computer skills with emphasis on MS Office and business enterprise systems for data entry, chart generation and basic statistical analysis.

• Use office equipment and tools such as PC, photocopier, fax machine, test equipment, quality instruments, digital camera, etc.
• Read and understand design drawings and use inspection tools such as tape measures, scales, levels, micrometers, calipers, etc.
• Operate powered equipment such as forklift and overhead crane.
• Travel domestically and internationally, if required.
• Communicate effectively with others to complete work assignments.
• Analyze data and develop accompanying reports.
• Collaborate with outside suppliers and service providers.
