Warehouse General Manager

Position Overview

Hanso Home is launching a new distribution and fulfillment facility in Memphis, TN, and is seeking an experienced General Manager to lead the stand‑up and ongoing operation of the site. This role will assist in building the operation from the ground up, including facility readiness, team hiring, training and development, process implementation, and execution of inbound and outbound shipping eventueel. The operation specializes in oversized, heavy, and non‑standard palletized products, requiring deep experience with LTL, partial truckload, and rail‑adjacent freight.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with proven success launching or scaling warehouse operations and managing the complexities of large‑format freight.

• Take lead role in the start‑up and go‑live of Hanso Home’s Memphis distribution center, from empty building through full operational launch.
• Partner with executive leadership, consultants, and vendors to ensure facility readiness, MHE, safety systems, and dock configuration.
• Establish operational benchmarks, SOPs, and staffing plans aligned with oversized freight handling.
• Support early inbound receipt, first outbound shipments, and stabilization of operations during ramp‑up.

• Oversee all daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, staging, and shipping of oversized and heavy palletized products.
• Manage outbound execution with a strong focus on LTL and partial truckload shipments, including carrier coordination, dock scheduling, and freight staging.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of long‑length pallets, non‑standard dimensions, and overweight SKUs.
• Optimize warehouse layout, slotting, and dock utilization to support safe and efficient material flow.
• Manage relationships with LTL carriers, regional truckload providers, and freight brokers serving the Memphis market.

• Ensure accurate inventory management and system transactions within the WMS/ERP.
• Develop and refine SOPs related to receiving, storage, staging, and shipping of oversized freight.

• Partner cross‑functionally with supply chain, finance, and customer teams to support operational goals.

• Manage the warehouse operating budget, including labor, freight, supplies, and MHE expenses.
• Oversee facility maintenance, equipment condition, and vendor relationships (forklifts, racking, pallets, maintenance).
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards.

• 8+ years of warehouse or distribution leadership experience.
• Proven experience shipping oversized, heavy, or non‑standard palletized products.
• Strong working knowledge of LTL freight operations, carrier management, and dock execution.
• Experience launching, scaling, or stabilizing warehouse operations.
• Hands‑on experience with forklifts, walkie riders, and MHE used for large‑format freight.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a fast‑paced environment.

• Experience in e‑commerce, furniture, home goods, building materials, or large‑format consumer products.
