Join EY as a Senior Manager in the Government & Public Sector Financial Accounting Advisory Services (FAAS) – State and Local (SLED) practice. You will play a key role in growth, developing your career by communicating creative strategic goals and delivering exceptional client experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Actively pursue business development activities, identify opportunities, and develop proposal responses.
- Train staff and execute engagement deliverables simultaneously.
- Collaborate across multiple service lines to build relationships and identify cross‑service opportunities for clients.
- Travel regularly to meet key clients, including high‑profile stakeholders.
- Strong, productive client relationships and proactive contact throughout the year.
- Direct field work, inform supervisors of engagement status, and manage assurance staff performance.
- Deep understanding of complex governmental accounting (e.g., GASB), budgetary reporting, and auditing concepts.
- Experience executing advisory or consulting work such as reporting or transformations.
- Develop people through delegation, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Contribute ideas, listen to team members, and foster an innovative, team‑oriented environment.
- Use technology to share knowledge and enhance service delivery.
- Understand EY's service lines and encourage team members to apply firm services.
- U.S. CPA license in your work state.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business with 10+ years of post‑college work experience in financial audit and advisory for SLED clients.
- In‑depth knowledge of U.S. Governmental GAAP, GASB standards, and OMB guidance.
- Proficiency in ACFR, annual financial statements, and Single Audit Report preparation for SLED entities.
- Experience with modified‑accrual reporting, grants management, and budgetary reporting.
- Hands‑on business development experience in the SLED space and proficiency in deal governance and proposal submissions.
- Excellent project management, communication, negotiation, and collaborative skills.
- Proven record of managing, mentoring, and improving high‑performing teams.
- Integrity in a professional environment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher.
- CGFM and/or CDFM.
- Comprehensive compensation and benefits package with a base salary range of $146,700 to $335,100 across the U.S. (higher ranges for NYC, WA, CA).
- Flexible hybrid work model; most client‑serving roles work in‑person 40‑60% of the time.
