Autonomously performs service work and preventative maintenance and repairs on specialized building systems such as mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulics, carpentry or machine servicing. Brief Overview

Autonomously performs service work and preventative maintenance and repairs on specialized building systems such as mechanical, electrical/electronic, hydraulics, carpentry or machine servicing. Leads other Facility Services Associates by assigning/planning/scheduling work and reviewing quality of work performed. Models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values.

What you will do
  • Performs and oversees work orders for preventative maintenance and repairs on building systems.
  • Determines the nature of the problem and ensures that repairs are completed in a timely manner.
  • Performs and guides the maintenance of machinery incidental to system operations.
  • Demonstrates effective customer service skills promoting a positive work environment and contributes to the overall team effort.
  • Understands and applies all policies, procedures and standards.
  • Demonstrates safe work practices and visibly leads other Associates in supporting a strong safety culture.
Education/Formal Training Requirements
  • Required - High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Preferred - Associate’s Degree Mechanics
Work Experience Requirements
  • Required - General maintenance and operations 1-3 years
Licenses and Certifications Requirements
  • Preferred - Licensed Journeyman Tennessee - Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance

Skills and Abilities
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to read and write and to communicate verbally and in writing with other individuals.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with co‑workers.
  • Ability to work from drawings, diagrams, sketches and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to organize tasks and maintain control of work flow.
Supervision Provided by this Position
  • There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job.
Physical Demands
  • Occasional work performed outdoors.
  • Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
  • Occasional travel to other locations.
  • The physical activities of this position may include squatting, bending, twisting, crawling, climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
  • Must have good balance and coordination.
  • The physical requirements of this position are: heavy work - exerting up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently.
  • The Associate is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity, such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
  • The Associate may be required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned or to make general observations of facilities or structures.
