The Maintenance Specialist works with the Maintenance Manager to maintain excellence in all Amuse experiences through game upkeep, prop building, prop servicing, back up inventory management, and being quick to solve issues that arise over the weekend. They will help install new installations, learning how to service those props after the game is launched. They will be responsible for upkeep of any back up inventory system, tools, tech, paint, and other mediums needed to keep all experiences and facilities looking great and functioning well.
They will help rebuild props, refresh paint, replace buttons and coordinate with the Maintenance Manager and Location Manager on items that need updates. They work hard to ensure the final product is beautiful, functional, serviceable, immersive, durable, and up to our high standard of excellence. They will also perform routine safety checks and quality checks on adventures, battles and challenges and customer spaces as needed.
They will keep Slack notifications on when they are onsite to assist the team. They will constantly improve their low voltage skills and technical skills as needed to complete building upkeep needs and troubleshoot props.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in maintaining all adventures and facilities at Amuse business unit ensuring they look like they did opening day with all props functioning the way they were intended and customer and staff spaces looking fresh and vibrant. Be a champion of excellence in all areas of the Amuse properties.
- Use carpentry skills, artistic skills, technical and mechanical skills to upkeep the museum.
- Support Location Manager in handling maintenance issues as they arise that are next level, particularly on the weekends. Help troubleshoot problems HCs can’t identify.
- Work in tandem with the MM to create a backup list, constantly keep the list updated and backups in stock for all needs.
- Go through the Maintenance Checklist each shift, uploading it to Slack at the end.
- Assist with the implementation of new business needs, plans and upgrades for Amuse.
- Conduct walk throughs and play throughs every week (have pods on a rotation) identifying things that are not working and then making sure to fix them or have the on site team fix them if paper goods or easy items.
- Intimately understand how the types of buttons used in varying adventures / battles / challenges work and replace them quickly.
- Ensure that company premises and facilities are kept in clean and hygienic condition.
- Manage the Slack maintenance channel making sure all issues are solved promptly and going in when needed quickly. Must be able to get to the location in Memphis quickly to fix high priority and urgent needs.
- Keep work spaces tidy, organized and stocked with tools and supplies needed.
- Ensure everything built is functional, in theme, serviceable and unbreakable. Think three steps ahead and communicate quickly when you see things aren’t as they should be.
- Identify industry trends for customer experience and game operations and incorporate when possible. Stay up to date on challenge arcade trends and maintain knowledge base through attending trade shows, industry events, and doing marketing research. - Utilize your time and resources efficiently to keep the culture, vibe, quality, room experiences, staff, brand, and all events excellent at The Adventure Museum and constantly moving forward in line or ahead of the industry. This means showing up to work related events when possible to lead the way in building relationships.
