Automotive Technician; Auto Technician

POSITION DESCRIPTION

In this role you will perform routine and complex repairs and maintenance on all types of motor vehicles in the postal fleet.

• troubleshoot and diagnose more complex vehicle malfunctions
• diagnose vehicles and perform operational checks on engines, major supporting systems, parts and components
• perform various computerized and electronic diagnostic tests using specialized equipment
• prepare and update vehicle records, annotate labor time, and manage work orders
• conduct visual and auditory vehicle inspections and road calls

• Applicants must successfully complete Postal Service Test 943 and Test 944, to demonstrate knowledge and ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and make minor and major repairs to automotive systems
