Information Technology Manager

IT Manager | Memphis, Tennessee | Up to $85,000

A stable, long established distribution company is hiring an IT Manager to take ownership of day to day IT operations at its Memphis headquarters.

This role is ideal for someone who has previously run a small IT function and enjoys balancing people management with hands on technical work, particularly around switching, VLAN design, and on site network reliability.

You will be responsible for managing local IT operations, acting as the technical escalation point, and coordinating with external IT vendors. The environment supports multiple warehouses and manufacturing locations across several states, with a strong reliance on well designed and stable Layer 2 networking to support operational systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support day to day IT operations across office, warehouse, and manufacturing environments
• Lead two direct reports and provide technical direction
• Act as the escalation point for complex infrastructure and networking issues
• Own the local network environment including switching, VLAN configuration, and access layer design
• Ensure reliable connectivity for warehouse systems, production equipment, and end user devices
• Contribute to solution building and network improvements rather than pure break fix support

Technical Environment

• Windows Server administration
• Active Directory, basic Entra , Microsoft 365
• Layer 2 networking including VLAN design, trunking, access ports, and switch management
• Understanding of Layer 3 concepts such as routing and gateways, but with primary ownership at Layer 2
• Network support for warehouse devices such as scanners, printers, and production systems
• Remote monitoring and management tools such as Ninja One
• Basic scripting and automation

What They Are Looking For

• 5+ years of overall IT experience
• 2 to 3+ years managing an IT function or small team
• Strong Windows Server and infrastructure background
• Hands on experience managing switches, VLANs, and access layer networking
• Comfortable being the primary on site owner of the network environment
• Able to run day to day IT operations without heavy oversight

Compensation and Benefits

• Salary up to $85,000 with some flexibility for the right candidate
