The Manager, Digital Content Strategy will lead the planning, optimization and execution of engaging digital content strategies. This role will focus on driving customer engagement, enhancing Auto Zone’s digital presence and supporting business goals through innovative content initiatives. The ideal candidate must be a creative and skilled digital storyteller, strategic thinker and collaborative manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Strategic Content Leadership
- Develop and oversee the content strategy for Auto Zone’s digital platforms ( and Mobile App), ensuring alignment with the brand, business objectives, merchandising, and customer needs to drive conversion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Merchandising, Marketing, Product, and UX/UI, to ensure content supports team and broader organizational goals.
- Drive the creation and implementation of data-driven content plans to enhance the customer experience and improve performance metrics.
- Oversee the creation and execution of compelling digital content across the digital experience that drives traffic and conversion.
- Establish and enforce standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all digital touchpoints.
- Manage timelines and deadlines for content initiatives.
- Drive the creation and maintenance of planning and scheduling documents detailing the release of site content (monthly and ad hoc)
- Use analytics tools to measure content performance, identify trends, and optimize strategies based on insights.
- Conduct regular A/B testing and usability studies to refine content and enhance user engagement to drive results.
- Partner with SEO and SEM teams to ensure content is optimized for discoverability and search engine performance.
- Manage and mentor a team of content specialists fostering a culture of creativity and innovation who are laser-focused on driving sales
- Be able to speak to leadership, presenting strategic initiatives and results.
- Stay updated on digital trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to keep Auto Zone at the forefront of digital engagement.
- Advocate for innovative solutions that elevate the customer experience and differentiate the brand in the competitive marketplace.
- Build and leverage cross-functional expertise to influence digital/eCommerce strategies and initiatives.
- Create and implement opportunities for process improvements.
- Maintain full understanding of all communication channel plans; help drive collaboration across channels.
- Experience with JIRA, Content Stack (CMS) and Figma or similar tools preferred.
This position has two or more direct reports and will oversee multiple external vendors. In addition, this role offers significant lateral and upward influence, leading strategic conversations across the organization and with senior leadership teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing or similar field or equivalent years of experience
- 7-10 years of experience in marketing and project management, retail industry preferred
- Experience or understanding of digital touchpoints (online, mobile, display advertising, SEO, paid search, email)
- Experience leveraging analytics and tracking key performance metrics to guide strategies
