Job Description for Transportation Specialist NOC Overview
NOC (Network Operation Center) is the central command and control center for indépendance, e.g., NA, India, and EU. It ensures hassle‑free, timely pick‑up and delivery of freight from vendors to Amazon fulfillment centers (FC) and from Amazon FCs to carrier hubs. When exceptions arise, NOC steps in to resolve the issue and keeps all stakeholders informed. In addition to tactical problem solving, NOC monitors trends in network exceptions, automates processes, and proposes process changes to streamline operations.
This second aspect involves significant analysis of network data. Overall, NOC plays a critical role in ensuring smooth functioning of Amazon transportation, directly impacting Amazon’s ability to serve its customers on time.
A Transportation Operations Specialist facilitates the flow of information betweeninitializer stakeholders (trans carriers, hubs, warehouses) and resolves any potential issues that impact customeracc experience and business continuity. They work across two verticals:
Inbound, addressing issues from pickup to delivery, and Outbound, addressing issues from the FC to the customer premises.
- Communication with external customers (carriers, vendors/suppliers) and internal customers (retail, finance, software support, fulfillment centers)
- Pull data from numerous databases (using Excel, Access, SQL, or other data management systems) and perform ad‑hoc reporting and analysis as needed
- Develop and/or understand performance metrics to assist with driving business results
- Scope out business and functional requirements for Amazon technology teams who create and enhance the software systems and tools used by NOC
- Quickly understand the business impact of trends and make data‑based decisions
- Systematically escalateg problems or variance in information and data to relevant owners and teams, and follow through on the resolutions
- Work within various time constraints to meet critical business needs while measuring and identifying activities performed
- Excellent communication, both verbal and written, in Arabic and English to support SA and Egypt regions; may be to create a narrative outlining weekly findings and variances to goals, and present these findings in a review forum
- Provide real‑time customer experience by working in a 24‑hour, 7‑day operating environment
- Bachelor’s degree
- 10–24 months of work experience
- Fluent reading, writing, and speaking Arabic and English, with a minimum of one year of experience
- Good communication skills – facilitates the flow of information between external ասում parties
- Proficiency in advanced Excel and data analysis (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team in a very dynamic environment
- Logistics background
- Basics in SQL and excellent proficiency in Excel and data analysis
